A busy whirlwind of a first week. There was a robust gathering of film geeks, filmmakers, and actors at the Provincetown Film Festival last weekend where I presented the awards for best student short films. There were lots of documentaries: The Last Mountain (important and fascinating - a must see) ; Errol Morris' Tabloid (stylish and diverting, enormous fun - great John Kusiak soundtrack) ; Hit So Hard, about Former Hole drummer Patty Schemel, which was an interesting coincidence of a topic. The variety of documentaries on view always provides perspective and inspiration.

As a sidenote - At a panel breakfast I slipped a Kickstarter "Woman's Voice" card to the guitar player in Abigail Breslin's rock band, who was enthusiastic to discover another ancient (to her) woman rock pioneer. But if I actually see a contribution from her, I will eat my drumsticks.
Since returning, Robin and I have been reaching out further and are about 25% funded, but are certainly not confident. Gathering of material continues. During an acting job on Monday, I ran into another photographer from Boston (Paul Lyden) with a slew of amazing pictures, and Carol Fonde in New York who has shot 100's of really gorgeous photos (see below).
Mike Lembo, our former manager, Carmelita, Carla DeSantis have all helped us network. I'm missing others I'm sure, so thanks to all who have taken the drive forward a notch.
Robin and I are playing a small party for a freind this weekend and we'll catch up on where we're at. Laura, our editor, and I will forge on - starting up again Friday.
The campaign started on the day of the Stanley Cup win and ends its first week on the solstice and the capture of Boston crime icon "Whitey" Bulger. A good sign?
